Well last night turned out to be a real downer...
I got a call from my mom late yesterday evening just after I'd dozed off to sleep in bed.
She called to tell me that my brothers GF had been taken in to hospital earlier that day, she had an artery or vein in her brain burst and bleed; apprently with no warning at all and no prior history of this kind of illness that I know of. Last I heard today was that she is conscious again and talking but has no mobility down one side.
My borther has been with her since it happened, you can't even have your cell phone turned on in the hospital so I can't contact him directly. I know he must be having a hard time even being in a hospital plus to have all this as well must be hell. For those new to me/my blog... our father died in hospital just after christmas one year. It affected us all but my brother took it badly, in some ways worse than my Mum.
I'll keep trying to reach him, I'll go take time off work and be with him if it'll help him.
Kicker is that she has two young kids from a previous relationship that must be going out of their minds with fear, panic and worry.... Mums seriously ill and all we can do is wait and see how well she responds to treatment. All I can do is pray for her, so thats what I'm doing.
Man, life throws some tough breaks at you sometimes and you just down know where to expect it.
People, lesson I learned from this is make the most of life while you are still here and able to... this may not be a dress rehearsal for the main event.
Anyway main reason for the lack of posting recently is too much work and not enough free time to do other more fun stuff. Inlight of the above, thats gonna change for sure.
Enough for now, I'm gonna raid the fridge for a 1 AM snack and go to bed....
